Great Sandy National Park on the east coast of Queensland is a beautiful destination filled with large sand dunes, towering cliffs, coloured sands and seemingly neverending wide beaches. If you're looking to stretch your legs, you can follow one of the scenic walking trails through the park including the Double Island Point Lighthouse trail to take you up to the lighthouse for incredible views of the surrounding region. Camping is allowed in a number of different areas with both formal campgrounds and basic camp spots wth the differences lying in the available facilities.
