Location

Experience a close encounter with beautiful tawny nurse sharks and our new cheeky whitetip reef sharks when you book the Reef Shark Snorkel Experience at the Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters Aquarium in Port Stephens.

The Reef Shark Snorkel experience includes admission to the aquarium, educational presentations by our knowledgeable fish keepers and fish food for our sharks & rays. Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters run sessions all day from 9am-5pm. Arrival before 3:40pm is recommended, as our last presentation of the day is at 4pm.

  • Interactive adventure of the aquarium
  • Entry into the shallow water of the lagoon for feeding and petting
  • Food for the sharks and rays
  • Educational and interactive displays and talks
  • Snorkel with private guide in the deep water of the lagoon
  • Wetsuits and snorkel gear hire plus wear and keep souvenir socks

  • 10am or 2pm every day

  • Located at 2 Jessie Rd Anna Bay, NSW, on the corner of Nelson Bay Rd and Jessie Rd

What To Bring

  • Hat
  • REEF-FRIENDLY sunscreen
  • Your camera (underwater cameras are great!)
  • Clothes (t-shirts & shorts or skirts that can stay dry in the shallows)
  • Your own prescription mask set- note though we do allow it you will need to allow extra time before your experience for us to clean/soak your snorkel in solution to ensure it is free from any nasties.

Additional Information

  • Only available for people over the age of 12 years and must be competent swimmers
  • Please arrive 20 minutes before your snorkel experience so you don't miss out on time in the water
  • Bring a towel and swimwear to wear under your wetsuit

  • Cancel up to 12 hours in advance for a full refund
