Broome Guide
Broome Tourist Information:
Top Things to Do:
Broome, Western Australia is an obvious starting point for a truly great Kimberley region experience.
A coastal town first founded as a thriving Pearl Farming industry, today the region is a popular tourist destination due to its many surrounding natural features that make for great day tour locations. Take a trip out of Broome itself to the tip of the Dampier Peninsula to the popular Cape Leveque and you'll see a fabulous mix of coastal and cliff views alongside seaside wilderness.
Board a vessel and take part in a river cruise along the fresh water district of Geikie Gorge and soak in the sight of its many multi-coloured cliffs that surround you on both sides; or hop on a camel for a true Kimberley region experience and explore the town and its many features that may take you by surprise given its relatively isolated location – you'll see a Chinatown, multiple historic buildings, prominent lookouts and galleries, and much more.
Lastly, no visit to Broome is complete without visiting the pristine shores of nearby Cable Beach – justifiably world-famous, the beach stretches for a distance of over 22 kilometres and features amazingly white sands and warm, crystal-clear waters while serving as the ideal place to watch a memorable sunset on one of the region's many balmy tropical nights. Broome may be small in size, but that doesn't mean it's lacking in things to do!
