Hahndorf and its surrounds feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of Adelaide city. Make your way along this unique trail featuring the very best of the region and be captivated by the rich natural beauty, history, and some of the best food and wine in the country.
The character of the hills depends on the time of year you visit be it the mists of winter, the red and gold leaves of autumn, or the clear bright sunshine of the warmer months, it is always beautiful. This trail is all about winding country roads, panoramic vistas of vines and orchards, and more historic sites than you can waggle a wine glass at.
The cooler climates make for some outstanding wines. From Shaw & Smith, Australia's Best Shiraz awarded at the London International Wine Challenge, to the iconic and eminently drinkable Sparkling Rose from Bird in Hand, on this day you'll have the opportunity to taste a wide range of Australia's best and most memorable wines.
From Hahndorfs plentiful array of authentic German cuisine, pubs, and cafes, to the fine dining offered at The Lane vineyard, or the cheesemongers and chocolate factory at Woodside, our trail makes the most of the region's delectable offerings. Alternatively bring a picnic and recline on the lawn at Shaw & Smith overlooking lush views of lakes, hills and vines.
We are thankful here at TrailHopper to present you Hahndorf and the Hills as though you are driving yourself. After joining us in Adelaide or in Hahndorf you are free to hop on and hop off our trail however you like. You're loving your wine and don't want to move on just yet? Stay comfortable and catch a later bus! All you need is our helpful Info Pack and a bit of planning to truly Tour Your Way.

Bookings are essential at most destinations so agree with your group the wineries you wish to visit throughout the day. Start with where you’re having lunch, how long you’ll want to spend there, and work outwards from there.

- Lunch is not included. Bookings are essential for all restaurants and food can be purchased at most wineries. We encourage a long (2 hour) lunch or pack a picnic and relax!
- Wine tastings are not included and bookings are essential in most locations. Plan ahead which locations you'll visit.

- The coach will pick you up from Stamford Plaza Adelaide, 150 North Terrace at 10:00am and returns back to this location at 5pm

- If you have a large group of 7+ people please contact us on 1300 935 532 to ensure there is availability on the coach
- Drinking on the bus is illegal and will result in the removal of that passenger from the bus
- To maximise your number of stops, you should visit venues in the same order as the timetable with a maximum potential of 4 stops
